This is the official site for
apocryptii, the industrial-trance-jungle-electro-etc. musical
genius.

news.
12.28.00
Yeah,
I got speakers and a CD burner for Christmas, so now I can store
those space hogging wav files.
Catacombs
of Divergence. That's the project Deviator and I are working on.
We've got the Club Mark Anthem done, and Let's Make It
Rock Already is near completion. Everybody's lovin the
anthem. It's gotta be the most dancable song I've ever worked
on.
That's
it for now.
12.21.00
Wow,
didn't realize that it was so long withoug an update.
apocryptii
news: joined a band with friend Brendon. It's called Still
Birth. Taking on the extremes of experimental electronic.
Deviator and I have also started a band, concentrating more
along a not-so experimental electronic duo, more of a 'dance to
me' type music.
compass
news: have most lyrics written, ten rhymes out of a projected 12.
Compass
is progressing quickly. One song has already been recorded, 4
beats have been made, and 10 lyrics within the span of 3 months.
Remember how they are totally opposite in some ways? Well, I
think Compass should be done sooner than expected, and
apocryptii takes way longer than expected. Sure I've got 9
complete songs, and 3 incomplete songs (not including side
projects), but I thought this was going to be completed in
september of 1999! It's december of 2000 now, holy. I've got the
vocals for two frickin songs ready.
I
need to sound proof a section of this bassment, but it can't
happen, cause apperantly, we're moving to another section of
ajax, away from the water.
Sum
41 is Canada's version of Blink 182. They're from ajax too. I
hate most punk music, and these guys are no exception, but if
they can get a grant from the government to make music, maybe I
can too.
Why
the hell are all these bands putting numbers in their names? It
just makes it soooo much harder to remember.
"Is that apocryptii 435768643368 on TV?"
"Dude, it's apocryptii 4357686433-7-8, get with the
times".
11.27.00
So
you've been wondering what I'm up to. Well, I've got my first
track up on mp3.com
since last year. Farewell. Download it. So I felt a lil
industrial.....
I
bought the latest Manson album. 19 songs of either hard, ?unadulterated? aggression, or claming, yet disturbing moods and
rhythms. The store I went to didn't have the NIN remix album, so
I didn't get that.
Deviator's
next release is going to have me in it. No, not Let's Make it
Rock Already, but he's going to make a next track featuring
Compass Saviour! I can't wait til he releases his album.
I
also can't wait til I get a new mic. The mic I have is fine for
loud vox, but for the subtleness of some of the vox I want on
the apocryptii project, it's not so fine. I'm going to have an
apocryptii featuring Compass song, or vice versa.I'm writing the
song now, I'm just unsure of which CD I want it on.
11.12.00
Ok,
so there hasn't been a lot of progress with the apocryptii
project as of late. Ever since I got my computer up and running,
I've been doing stuff for the NKC or Compass. What can I say,
you live in Scarborough, you make a little bit of industrial,
you live in Ajax, you miss Scarborough, and write about it in a
way that reminds you of it.
I'm
feelin hip hop. I'm not feelin industrial right now. Can't
help it. Maybe combining the two would be appropriate, but I
want to keep these projects seperate for my own reasons. Look
for my next (Compass) track in a few days.
Oh,
I guess it'd be good to cut the news section down a lil.
11.09.00
The
track is up. Again, it's at the NKC
portion of mp3.com.
The
NKC has made 78 cents so far on mp3.com, so please, download
more!
11.05.00
Ok,
me and Deviator (Deviator and I) worked on a beat for Masheek
Hype Five's "The Great Infiltration" and it's
sounding mint.
We're
also collaborating on something called "Let's Make it
Rock Already" geaturing me with a phony (I mean real)
british accent. This song has a little of everything to please
almost every electronic fan. We'll post it somewhere when we're
done.
11.03.00
Still
haven't gotten the links to work yet (no time), and I've almost
got the Compass site up and running. It's way more simplistic
looking, it's almost 'ghetto'.
Deviator
is working on the beat for my next 'single' on mp3.com/nkc
called 'The Art of Lovemaking'. It kind of electronic,
but it's very catchy. You will like.
11.01.00
Oh,
right now, some of the pics, and links do not work...... but
don't worry, it'll be fixed shortly.
Read
my mainstream editorial. Look at Radiohead's career. Would Kid A
get any attention at all had it not been for the alternative
styling of their previous releases?
Kid
A kicks the ass out of Aphex Twin and Squarepusher. Yes, I do
make such a bold statement. Amazing album, buy 10 copies. The
only thing I don't like is that they stole (well not really, cuz
I never implemented it) my idea of having some sort of booklet behind
the black backing that holds the CD. Now if I go thru with it,
it seems like I'm following them. Oh well, I guess I'm a
follower.
10.31.00
Yes!
Net access. No, when I finally get access, my host doesn't exist
anymore. So, this site will be posted here at associate records,
and whenever I get another host.
I've
got my first Compass track completed, it's called The Rant. Hope
you like it, check it out at mp3.com/nkc.
09.17.00
Downtime
of two weeks my ass. No net, no posts, simple. So I've decided
to update my site offline, to 'bumbard' everyone with news when
it does get posted. Unfortunately in doing so, after about 5
pages of writing news that you needed to know, my
computer crashed, just before saving. So now, I have to write a
short version.
I
have some musical news, on another musical act, me. No, not
apocryptii, Compass. It's not like the other stuff I've done,
it's hip hop. I've never recorded any until now, but I did
perform at the Kathedral, remember? Well, I'm after getting a
lot better with the mic, almost a transformation you could say.
It'll
be called "Self Titled". I thought it was kinda
clever. It's weird, it's like the exact opposite of apocryptii
in some ways, and exactly the same in others. With Compass,
Lyrics come first and foremost, beats later. But with
apocryptii, it's music first, lyrics after.
Deltit
Fles's attitude is kind of like Fuck
off, I don't care anymore,
while Self Titled's attitude is off the wall. Some of the same
issues will be brought up, but with a Fuck
you and your crew, I'll be through with you in two minutes and
finish you off with a blue nine so mind your biness
attitude.
Maybe
tonite I'll work on a website for Compass, and keep the info on
each project seperate.
Oh,
and one last note, I thought that Zoblica and In the Dark by
Associate playa Deviator would
sound mint together, so I wanna make a mix called Listening to
Zoblica In the Dark. I thought that was clever too.
Just
saved, no crash
06.21.00
I've
had four days off of work, it was good. Yesterday was supposed
to be my last chilling day with the whole crew, but it wasn't
so. Jay calls me
up. We decide to chill. Drew calls me up (they're brothers) and
wants to chill, and play ball. Cool. I get Jordan, we head over.
Drew
hooks up my dreamcast. We play some games. I ask where Jay is.
"Downstairs" replies Drew. I yell downstairs. "Yo
Jay, play some ball" No answer. Me, friendly, huss and cake
play some ball. I strain my ankle on the base of the net coming
down from an attempted. dunk. It hurt. I can't walk properly.
So,
I go downstairs, and Jay is there afterall, he just didn't hear
me (impossible), along with Meg. We go upstairs and play some
dreamcast. Street Fighter Alpha 3, Mostly Cake and Jay versus me
AT THE SAME TIME! It's funny. Wendy
came buy. She asked if we wanted to go to McD's to get some ish
to eat. I couldn't, so she asked if I wanted to have something
brought back. Yeah, thanks! I got a big *Uxtra* meal.
MMmmmmmmMMMmm. Then Drew took her home, Me Cake and Friendly had
to leave, seeing we realised that we were in the house ourselves
now, with no Foncecas anywhere.
Turns
out Jay was upstairs, and so was Nick. I thought Jay left, and
Nick was working. No click
unity. Something tells me we're falling apart, and my moving
isn't much of a help.
Other
notes
Why
is it that me, and a LOT of my friends have an "Asain
Fetish"? Seriously, My friends are from all different
places, we're all different races, and just about the only one's
who don't prefer Oriental girls the most, are the Oriental guys!
How messed is that? White guys like Oriental gals, Black guys
like the Oriental gals, Indian guys mostly like the Oriental
gals. Oriental guys, however, prefer the Caucasian gals. This is
my circle of friends. Maybe it's because we live in Agincourt
(asiancourt), and there are so many around, how can you not like
them the most? I don't think that's it though. Oh well.
I'm
packing up the computer today, so anyone who emails me, ICQs
me... whatever... won't get any email back for quite a time.
I'll have to get Rogers @ Home service in Ajax. So, expect a
downtime of two weeks.
06.18.00
So I
didn't move. The movers had a conflict with their scheduling.
That means I'm around Scarborough for another few days.
I
visited the house yesterday, and I'm liking it. The bassment is
dark and gloomy, as a bassment should be. My room is kinda
small, but so is the one I'm sharing right now.
It's
comforting to know that people are going to miss me when I move.
Never had that before.
Marvel
vs Capcom 2 is the wickedest game of the vs series. Dreamcast
kicks, I cant wait til it comes out at the end of the month for
the home platform.
My
grandmother tried to talk "Bible" to me again. Fun,
fun, fun. I don't want to hurt her feeling. Maybe my editorial
will me about formal religion. Ok, that's it.
06.16.00
So,
I'm moving to Ajax tomorrow. Kinda cool, and kinda not cool. I'm
moving from my friends. Bad. I get my own room. Cool. I get to
build a studio in the "bassment". Cool. Mostly,
everything is cool, except the fact of having no social life.
For the first time in my life, I've had a friend for more than a
year, because of constant moving. I've had these friends for 3-5
years now, depending on who you ask. I need a fucking drivers
license, and a car.
It's
past mid June, and I haven't even thought of what to write for
my editorial. Any suggestions? Give me a few suggestions.
06.12.00
Just
when I thought there'd be no interuptions to finishing
"Deltit Fles", there is now one. I'm not complaining,
mainly because I asked for it. Schema.
He gave me an email, said he liked my stuff. I proposed a
side/compilation project. He said sure. He sent me songs, I
started to put my two cents worth on a song that inspired me,
and he'll put his two cents worth on what I send him...... etc.
That's it. When we get a name for the project, we'll tell you.
When we get a song finished, we'll tell you. In the meantime, go
to his mp3.com site, download his mp3s, and buy some CDs off the
guy. I will once I get a credit card.
Now
I'm off to Jordan's to play some Perfect Dark.
06.10.00
I
just went to my (former) school's formal last night. I had a way
better time than I expected. I had a "BluntCam", and
which Hype would take various pictures with me and my blunt.
Every picture is different, 22 in all, and throughout the night,
I found it increasingly difficult to come up with ways in which
to use the blunt. I got through it though.
I
hate fast dances, slow dances are another story. When I slow
dance, I tend to dance REAL close, which scares some people, but
that's how I'm used to dancing. No one that night had a problem
with it though. I dance even closer when dancing with a
significant other, which some people find impossible.
I
felt so fraud in my suit at first, but as time passed, I
eventually started to like it. All black, and a white tie.
Sweeeet.
I'll
be posting some pics whenever I get enough time to scan them.
They be goin here.
06.03.00
I
just finished a background for your desktop. It's just ready in
1024 x 786, but I'll make others soon, for the pixel impaired.
CryptiK
Desktop vol 1
06.02.00
I've
decided that I'm going to make about 2000 copies of my debut
album, Deltit Fles. That's going to be a major expense for me,
and will either make me or break me. The reason I'm doing this
is because I want to release it in stores like HMV, Music World,
and Sunrise. The Associate
Records website will also have some copies, but a lot of
our releases are only available through the website. I'm
sending out qute a few promo copies to a few stations across
Canada, not just T.O. I also wanna make a video, I just don't
know about what yet though.
On
the note of making it big, I think Deviator has a better chance
of doing so. While I gravitate the experimental, Deviator has a
tendancy to make the phattest beats ever. He's got two songs
that are would turn the heads of Skinny Puppy fans around the
world. He sounds like he's been doing this for at least 10
years, and youd never guess he was still under 18. You can
almost hear the progression from good to better in each song he
creates. He's got a real mature sound, and I wish he had a
website to direct you to.
Hype
is gonna make it big too. He has doubts about himself, but I
don't know why. Guy is one the frickin sickest rappers out
there. Man can take any beat, and flow. From Nine Inch Nails
beats, to fuckin ambient music, the guy can flow to anything.
Actually, anything good, not country or pop.
Ummmm....
that's it for now.
05.31.00
I
think I'm going to write an editorial soon. I just don't know
what I could write it about. Maybe I'll write some beefs about
mainstream music, oh.... wait. Did that.
But
I know what I can do. Punk off Metallica.
Click
here to read the editorial
05.27.00
I've
been in a lyric writing mood lately. Not as much concentrating
on the musical aspects of things, I'm writing 3 songs right now.
One of which is a song called "I used to think she was
quite intelligent". I'm writing a slow kind of hip hop
song, just a look into what my inner soul is feeling. The third
is a traditional hip hop song, just a mad bunch of rants.
"Hype
says he's going to kill you all like Orthnal, but I'm a kill
y'all like the Trenchcoat Mafia"
Been
playing a lot of Quake 3
Arena lately, and the mod Beryllium is just the right amount
of action. People drop runes as they die that other people can
pick up and use. Rocket jumping is too sweet (think about the
highest ceiling in the arena) and the off hand grapple, make for
an action packed game, but not too overpowered. An example of a
mod that sucks is Overdrive, where you can fire about 5 rockets
a second, and the go almost as fast as a rail gun. That's crap.
05.21.00
So,
I finally got the master to Symphony of Noise off of my old
computer. I've been wanting it for a while to master properly.
Thee
Courduroy Hearts are amazing. I have a clip of a song they have
called wobble, but it seriously doesn't do them justice. My
whole crew, well, those who saw them, fell in love with their
sound. They are mad crazy. Wicked experimental type guitars. At
one point, I think the guitarist saw something on the ground,
and decided to play the guitar with it. He looked surprised to
see it there, and the sound was a bit awkward at first, until he
learned the sound, and figured out what it could do. Then he
plain fucking rocked.
05.19.00
Wow.
We just finished our performance at the Kathedral. I screwed up
a few times, but the crowd loved us anyway. I'll give a run down
of our performance.
Me
and Hype intorduced ourselves as the NKC, the Nut Kick Clan.
People laughed. I waited for Hype to do the opening line, we
were just talking to the audience.
Hype:
Anyone here
like Ministry? [crowd cheers] I said, any of y'all like
Ministry? [more cheering]
Me: I
kinda like them, they've got some good tracks.
Well,
we've got news for you
We're
not them.
[massive laughter]
So
then we do our first track *flawlessly*, the great infiltration. People loved
it, and cheered amazingly.
Puffy,
if I find you I'm gonna kick yo' ass.
I
went to a Nine Inch Nails Concert a little while ago, and they
had a mosh pit, but this place isn't big enough for a mosh pit.
Me and Hype will give you a little demo of how to mosh. [I
nudge Hype with my shoulder] That's
it. [massive
laughter again] You
wanna mosh again man?
No,
man, I'm ok.
Here's
the second track called Dissup Star. We diss people in this
track. This one has some guitars and stuff, you might like it.
I
screwed up in the second track. People laughed and cheered for
me, as I told them I was nevervous. Track ends.
I'm
SO sorry I screwed up, but I'm white.
[wicked laughter] He's
black, he screwed up too, but y'all didn't notice. He just did a
20 line freestyle. So who likes cunnilingus? [crowd:
YEAH!!!]
Y'all like muff diving? Alright, you're in luck, because that's
what this next verse is all about.
So
then I did my cunnilingus rhyme, and everyone was mad laughing,
we gave props to our friends. Ian gave us props, told the crowd
to give it up for us, and they did. They cheered way more than I
would have expected. We also pulled off a homage to Scott Botty
Scott somewhere.
That's
all I'm wrinting tonite. I'm tired. Lates.
05.14.00
Ok,
it's been a while since an update. So, what's up? I'll tell you
what I've worked on. I got my Cunnilingus Rhyme to go with
Distort, I dug up an old, OLD beat off of my old, OLD computer
for Hype and I to use to an untitled, but lyrically done song.
And I've made a beat for Hype to perform The Great Infiltration
to. I just need to fit them to the lyrics and chorus.
I'm
pretty excited about this, being a first live performance and
all. Well, that's about it, I've also been writting some lyrics
for other songs, but they're taking the back seat until after
this is over.
05.08.00
I
might be getting some mic time at the asspress CD release party.
I won't be doing any live industrial performances, because I
still can't set up the gear that I don't have. What I might be
doing, though, is doing a little rhyme or two. Hopefully,
instead of just me up there on stage all by my lonesome, Masheek
Hype Five can back me up. I'll give him some mic time as well,
to perform Quiet Storm, to a different beat of course. I'll
probably want to perform Cunnilingus, Break In, and Masheek's
Track. I'll keep you posted on how things are going here.
05.06.00
Well,
only one thing to say...... It's my birthday! I'm 19, all of my
info will be updated when I get the chance.
05.05.00
I
was think about how much scalpers suck. I remember my experience
at the concert (who wouldn't) and I recall seeing half of the
red section (best seating) empty. Literally. When J and I bought
our tickets, the best we could get was green seating (second
worst). So, a damn lot of people could have seen that great
show, didn't, all because they couldn't get the seats. Scalpers
took them. I hope they lost a lot of money, serves them right.
05.04.00
I'm
trying to come up with an idea for a music video. First, I have
to decide what my first single is going to be. It has to be able
to be played on the radio, too. I'm thinking that the only two
that might get some play would be This isn't Life, or Distort.
I'm not sure about my newest track in the works, called "I
used to think she was quite intelligent". I'm not sure yet
if it'd get radio play. I could make it toned down, but I don't
know. When I make music, whatever I find flows at the time. If I
want heavy experimentation, I'll do it, and if I feel like I
want to keep it mellow, I'll do it. I almost never have a set
plan for where a song will go.
My
B-Day is coming in just two days. I wonder what the parents have
planned? I hope nobody beats me.
Cover's
lookin' sweet. Just a few more days and this puppy'll be done.
A
lot of people are anxious to get a preview, but ya gonna have to
chill before gettin to review. All y'all gots ta get yo'selves a
seat for da final rendition for the transition from incomplete
to can't be beat.
Just
thought I'd drop a Dark Side Skills. I'm not all Gloom and Doom,
y'know. I thought it was pretty funny myself.
05.02.00
Plans
to release an NKC album or a Masheek Hype Five album are in the
works. There definitly will be a B.E.A.T. Jackers coming from
Hype, but not a commercial album. This will be uploaded to
numerous FTPs. Hopefully, Hype, Deviator and I can work
something out, so that we can make some beats for an actual
album that can be sold in stores.
We've
already got the vocals to three tracks completed, and the beats
ripped. Now we just have to make the alternate beats for the
"real" songs. You can hear one of the ripped beats here.
If
y'all didn't know, me and my crew have mad hip hop skills.
Deviator and I can create damn good hip hop beats. Hype's got
mad flow, and I have a pretty good flow as well, but no one, and
I mean no one
can top Hype. There are a lot of rappers out there that suck
right now, and it's awful to watch them. But then there's
Masheek Hype Five, who I would rank up there with....... anybody
who wants to test.
Some
of the songs will probably have a rock feel, maybe a bit of
industrial feel, and some will (obviously) be of a pure hip hop
nature. Wish me (and the others) luck.
05.01.00
Added archives so
that there aren't as many messages when you come here. Not that
there were a slew of them before, but there will be. I just
thought it'd be cool to think ahead.
My CD cover for
Deltit Fles is in the works. That's the reason for the colour
change. It matches the colour scheme of the CD now. All I can
say is that, Jay and
I are working on it. We were having shit loads of trouble
getting started, but now many ideas are flowing, and it looks
amazing so far. There are so many subliminal messages in it,
that you'd never be able to pinpoint them all. So many inside
jokes.......... I've said too much.
I feel like I'm on
top of the world right now, but how? Life been pretty much the
same as usual. When I find out why I'm feeling so good, I'll
tell you.
